Review The Art of Submission by Ella Dominguez

My rating 4 of 5 Stars

The Art of Submission is the story of Isabel and Dylan as they begin the exploration of a dominant and submissive relationship.

Isabel is innocent and unfamiliar with the world of BDSM, however her art and dreams are very aware of what her body desires. Her limited sexual experience isn't obvious when she is in bed and consumed by dark thoughts and images. She channels her energies into her art in the form of erotic paintings. She is a very private person and has no intention of sharing them.

She works for minimum wage in a local art gallery just to be around art. Greer, her boss, places her art on display to fill the wall knowing they will not sale. Everything changes when a handsome art collector purchases her paintings.

Isabel is horrified and furious that her personal thoughts have been exposed and sold. She makes it her mission to find out who bought her paintings and get them back. When she discovers who has them she decides to put on her big girl panties and go see Mr. Dylan Young. Her discovery also leads to a new inspiration for her work.

Dylan is a wealthy securities specialist who has lost his way because of betrayal and fear for his public image. He is also a very private person with serious trust issues. Being blackmailed by his previous submissive has lead to him walking away from the BDSM lifestyle.

Dylan finds himself in a dark corner of the art gallery gazing at paintings of his deepest darkest dreams. His controlling behavior and a longing for the good days results in an immediate purchase. He finds himself consumed with the images and the artist. Believing he has obtained only three pieces of an unfinished puzzle he decides he wants posses them all.

In her attempt to visit Dylan, Isabel provides him with the knowledge of who the artist is, and an even greater need to get to obtain her. With the return of his alter ego Dylan decides he wants her as his submissive. She doesn't know anything about the lifestyle and is afraid to get hurt, but she wants him too.

She turns his world upside down. Never has he found himself confronted with such an innocent yet feisty sub that turns into Little Miss Sassy Panties. She may be a submissive but she has serious control issues. This is not your typical dom/sub story. These two are all over the place and back and forth with each other. Not only are they dealing with their control issues but they both have a past than includes problems with trust and abuse.

I enjoyed watching them struggle with their growing feelings. I found great humor in Isabel's need for BDSM 101 and her version of how things need to be revised. Dylan thought she was a natural submissive that would just need to be taught. Well he was wrong because she can give as good as she gets.

It took me a while to adjust to the story being told from both point of views. I don't think all of the details need to be told from both viewpoints. However, I like the wholes filled in when the characters are not together.

I loved the story and characters. The Art of Submission is a great erotic love story. Their BDSM scenes were very detailed and hot, hot, hot. The cliffhanger has me anxious for the sequel. I can't wait for Erika to meet Isabel's alter ego.

Rape Girl by Alina Klein

My rating 4 of 5 Stars

Wow, I mean wow! This is such a real life story. I cheered for Valerie, I teared up for her and in the end I found myself to be very proud. I strongly recommend Rape Girl for teens, parents of teens, and anyone who works with teens. This is a story of a teenage girl who experienced the unimaginable and found the courage to face it head on. It made me think of how many girls this happens to that do not come forward. I found myself angry at the system for failing the innocent and don't even get me started on the school principal in this story. A great, heartbreaking story. But, in the end Valerie finds the strength for both her and her mother to get back to some normalcy in their life.

Thank you to NetGalley and Myrick Marketing & Media, LLC for the chance to read this amazing book.

Dante's Girl by Courtney Cole Review

My rating 4 of 5 Stars

Reece is not overly excited about the summer ahead of her.  She has many of the same issues and struggles of many teenagers.   Her life makes a great change when she bumps into Dante in the middle of the airport.  She had no idea how great these changes would be.  Things progress quickly putting her on a Greek island with a boy that looks like a Greek God.  Before she knows it she is completely in love with Dante and worrying he won't return the feelings because of his father's expectations, Together they try to deal with the many complications that continue to develop. However, as a teen age girl Reece can only wonder if their love is enough.

I really enjoyed reading Dante's Girl.  Thank you to Lakehouse Press and NetGalley for allowing me the read.

10 Nights by Michelle Hughes

My rating 4 of 5 Stars

Leah is a recent graduate who has no interest in losing her virginity.  She has no respect for men because of how her father treated her mom.  Her best friend is Janie, who lives life for both of them. Leah's greatest worry is finding a job until Janie takes her to an after-grad party that changes everything.

This is the night for Janie to share her only secret with Leah.  She has a boyfriend and is into the BDSM lifestyle.  Leah is shocked and overwhelmed at what she is seeing in the dungeon.  Even worse is the way her body responds with excitement.  Unable to deal with all of her desires she runs from the party and into the first man she has ever found desirable.

Rhett finds himself uncharacteristically drawn to this girl and decides he wants her as his pet.  He makes Leah an offer of 10 nights to surrender to him and experience pleasure.  She immediately wants to accept but agrees to spend the night thinking it over and discussing with Janie.  When Rhett is informed of Leah's innocence he finds it even harder to let her go home for even one night.

Of course Leah accepts even though she is terrified of the unknowing.  They spend the first evening discussing the details and agreeing with the use of safe words until she discovers her limits.  They agree to start the 10 nights tomorrow and take care of her virginity tonight.

I found myself being swept up into their feelings and experiences and at the same time thinking no one can be that submissive.  Leah is determined to finish the 10 nights no matter how hard Rhett pushes her or forces her to experience things she has no desire for.   He even questions himself several times but continues full speed ahead.  I found myself wanting to smack them both and tell them to discuss things, but Rhett is all dominant and refuses to allow his feelings to get involved.

When Rhett pushes to far he breaks something inside of Leah and she finally uses her safe word to get away.  Her heart is broken and still longs for Rhett even if she doesn't like him right now.  This situation finally opens Rhett's heart and mind to how much he truly feels for Leah.  When he realizes theses feelings are love he decides he will surrender himself to be whatever she needs him to be.  She also decides she cannot just walk away and agrees to meet and discuss their relationship.  Together they can see what they have together and what they need from each other.

I am anxious for the next book and I hope they have a healthier relationship.  I loved the story and characters. My favorite was the relationship between David and Janie is a great erotic love story. I liked the fantasy role playing and the BDSM scenes were hot.
