The Art of Domination (The Art if D/s #2) by Ella Dominguez

My Rating 5 out of 5 Stars

I loved this book!  I really enjoyed the first one but removing the double POV made a big difference.   We still hear from Isa and Dylan but it is not repetitive.  Ella also stepped up the BDSM scenes.  They were HOT, HOT, HOT and yummy.  I know, nice details but really this book just puts it out there.  The details are picture perfect.

We really get to know the characters in this book.  Their past is coming back into their lives and this makes them realize how much they don't know each other.  The real problem is the secrets that are being kept.  This leads to the suspense throughout the book.  You are captured by the story and waiting to see what will happen next.

As much as I enjoy when Isa releases her Domme and lets loose on Dylan, I was really enthralled when he showed his true nature.  He has been holding back and this throws Isla.  I"m not sure she realized what she was asking for when she told him she wanted the true him.  Dylan is a hare-core sadist.  The only difference between his relationship with Isla and his past is that he truly loves her.  For this reason he doesn't engage in some of previous themes, however, their play becomes much darker and edgier.  Isla is totally with him except for the secrets.  The love they have for each other is put to the test and may not withstand Dylan's inability to share everything with her.

I highly recommend this book.  With just 2 books into the series it is on my favorite's list.  I highly anticipate book 3.

What I Didn't Say by Keary Taylor

My Rating 5 out of 5 Stars

This is a very emotional story. It gives you real life issues for teens and adults. Jake is a typical teenage boy who plays football, has a crush on a girl, hangs out with friends, and makes a really bad decision. After drinking at a party he and his friends decide to go see Samantha so Jake can tell her how he feels about her. Of course this decision ends in a tragic accident and Jake loses his vocal cords. His entire life as changed and he is devastated. This ruins his plans for the future and requires him to make some soul searching choices.
Samantha is the smartest girl in their school. She pushes herself to be the best and does this on her own since her mom is constantly working out of town. After the accident she and Jake begin to get close after taking several classes together. It is obvious they have feelings for each other but Sam is holding something back. When Jake starts shutting down and giving up Samantha finally shares her own personal problems. The reason she is wore out, loosing weight, and looking rough is because her had died several months ago and she is trying to make it on her own.
This isn't your typical boy meets girl, falls in love and lives happily ever after. There is a lot of heartache, a disability, and let's not forget your high school romance problems. However, Jake and Sam form a bond and realize that after all they have been through they just have to love each other and believe that is enough.
